Elena Carbonell Sánchez-Gijón
I was born in Cadiz , Spain in 1968. I hold an English Language and Literature degree from the University of Seville. In 1995 I moved to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where I studied Dutch-Spanish translation at Vertol, Translation Polytechnics. I have been a professional translator since 1998 and have broad experience translating diverse types of texts into Spanish, especially technical guides and user manuals.
I co-authored a Spanish method for the Dutch publishing company Coutinho. I have written short comedy scripts for TV, stand-up sets and short stories. I am currently writing a series for TV.
I am one of the halves of Grupo Ortega Carbonell, a platinum member of Proz.com, a board member since January 2010 of Stichting Vertalersforum, a Dutch organization of translators and Chief of Communications at easylaughs, school of improv.
